Radiofrequency (RF) energy treatment is a promising technology for non-surgical body contouring, fat and cellulite reduction. Pure RF energy alone or RF in combination with other modalities can be used in treatments to effectively contour the body and reduce the appearance of cellulite and fat. With deep, controlled heating of the fatty layers under the skin, the effects of tissue tightening and increased blood circulation mean that fatty deposits are drained through the lymphatic system, reducing the appearance of cellulite. Based on current RF technologies, most people should see at least a mild improvement in their skin tone, with a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite and possible inch loss, with minimal risks and downtime. Prices for radiofrequency depend on the area(s) treated and the device used.
Ultrasonic cavitation is a weight-loss treatment that uses low-frequency sound waves to burst fat cells, which may result in lost inches on the treated areas and (ultimately) a slimmer figure. It’s been growing in popularity over the last few years because whiletraditional liposuction requires an invasive procedure to remove fat, this procedure doesn’t. To keep you informed, we’ve compiled answers to all your most pressing questions about the process.
What is ultrasonic cavitation?
Ultrasonic cavitation is a simple procedure that relies on sound waves to flush fat from the body instead of intensive surgery.
How does ultrasonic cavitation work?
During an ultrasonic cavitation procedure, noninvasive machines target specific body areas with low-frequency sound waves (they’re what put the “ultrasonic” in “ultrasonic cavitation”) and, in some cases, light suction. This process heats and vibrates the layer of fat cells below the skin’s surface. The pressure eventually causes the fat cells to liquefy and release their contents into the bloodstream. Proponents of the procedure believe that the body is then able to process these fatty acids through its proverbial waste-disposal plant: the lymphatic system.
Does ultrasonic cavitation work?
Yes, but results may vary! Depending on your individual health history and body type, you may slim down more or less dramatically or have longer- or shorter-lasting results than others.
What kind of results can I expect?
Results can vary greatly from patient to patient. However, most proponents of ultrasonic cavitation claim that you may see three results:
1. Tightened skin and reduced cellulite (due to the production of new collagen and elastin fibers)
2. Reduced circumference in the treated area (due to fat-cell release)
3. An overall contoured appearance (due to a combination of the benefits listed above)
Cryolipolysis (concentrated cold temperature) treatment targets and destroys the layers of stubborn fat cells; reducing the appearance of cellulite. This treatment will essentially freeze the fat cells, causing them to perish. Over the course of a few weeks, as the body naturally metabolizes these dead fat cells, the appearance will improve. Thighs, abdomen, flanks, lower back, upper arms, double chin and the male breasts may be treated. During the painless treatments the patients may note cold temperatures and a tingling sensation. This will quickly diminish, however, as the area slowly numbs.
